Thanks to Youtube, Spotify, iTunes, and other web-­‐based music streams, our current listening experience of, and taste in, popular music is boundless, from our own local music to the popular music of other societies and other nations. This course, focuses on a survey of popular music in selected countries, from Africa to Latin America, from Asia to northern Europe.
