SPAN 318 - Spanish Service Learning Credit(s): 1-3 SPANISH SERVICE LEARNING Enables learners of Spanish a chance to further their linguistic development through active engagement in ongoing service partnerships with the Hispanic community at home or abroad. The seminar component of the course will address such topics as basic communication and relationship skills, linguistic variation, and the study of and exposure to underserved and under-represented populations. Although the course has a linguistic focus, students will also be introduced to skills and issues relevant to their particular service assignment from fields such as psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, and education.
