HIST 170 - Plagues and Peoples in Human History Credit(s): 3 PLAGUES AND PEOPLES Component: Lecture Death stalks us all. Using William McNeill’s classic “Plagues and Peoples in History,” this course will examine and effects of major epidemics and diseases in human history (e.g., plague, smallpox, measles, typhuis, AIDS, and the like), including how both professionals and ordinary people sought to explain and deal with these rampaging maladies.
