Nothing in the Catalog shall be construed as or operate as a limitation of any rights, powers, or privileges of the Board of Trustees of the University of Delaware or the University’s President. The Board of Trustees and the President are authorized by law to adopt, amend, or repeal rules and policies that apply to students, faculty and staff. The Catalog does not constitute a contract or the terms and conditions of a contract between the student and the University. The relationship of the student to the institution is one governed by statutes, rules, and policies adopted by legislative bodies, the Board of Trustees, the President, or their duly authorized designees.
All programs and courses at the University of Delaware are offered contingent on minimum enrollment requirements. The University may, in its sole discretion, cancel, discontinue, reschedule, or combine programs and courses because of insufficient enrollment or for any other reason.
A student who has been admitted to or registered for a program or course that is not offered will receive a full refund of tuition and fees for that program or course, or will be permitted to transfer to another program or course on a space-available basis. Information is available on the University of Delaware web site about what programs and courses will be held each semester. Students should not attend the first class in a course without checking the web site in advance to make sure the course will be offered. Whenever a program or course is canceled for insufficient enrollment, the University will endeavor to provide affected students with alternative ways of completing the program or course or satisfying academic requirements, such as allowing students to enroll in equivalent programs or courses offered at other University locations or giving students preference for admission to the program or course in subsequent semesters.
