The Materials Science and Engineering Department offers no individual degrees at the undergraduate level, however, undergraduate students study the basic concepts associated with the engineering properties of materials in undergraduate courses taught by the Materials Science and Engineering faculty and many are actively involved in MSEG research projects. The department offers minors in Materials Science and Engineering and in Nanoscale Materials degrees. All Engineering departments offer senior projects concerned with the properties of materials. These technical elective courses are strongly recommended for students intending later to pursue masters (MMSE) or doctoral (Ph.D) degrees in Materials Science and Engineering.
